On 8/9 February
2014, the Karnöffel Guild in Willisau will be holding its 8th
international carnival weekend. The youngest participants are the kindergarten
pupils, who will open the festivities at 17:00 on Saturday afternoon. This will
be followed by representations of several ancient traditions and a carnival
mass in the parish church. As a special attraction, “the longest polonaise in
the world” will make its way through the small town. The highlight will be on
Sunday at 13:30, when the big carnival parade takes place with 56 guilds and
